Eligibility

  • We welcome applications from pre-college and college students, young professionals and advanced non-professional adult musicians.

  • Applicants under 17 must travel with a parent or guardian or provide the program with a signed permission.

  • Applicants under 13 will only be accepted on a case by case basis. Email info@mmsummerfest.com for additional inquiries.

How to Apply

March 1: Application deadline. Late applications will be accepted if spots are available. We admit a maximum of 45 students - apply early.

New Applicants: To complete your application, follow these four (4) steps: 

  1. Application form: Click Here to apply.

  2. Music Teacher Recommendation Form: Please ask your primary teacher (this step is waved if you are studying with our faculty) to send us an online, private and confidential recommendation form - Click Here

  3. Recent video recording of two contrasting selections not longer than 15 minutes in total length, one solo and another of the applicant playing with other musicians, either in larger chamber works or duets with piano accompaniment. Recordings have to be available for viewing on an online streaming website, such as YouTube or Vimeo and the links should be attached in the space provided on the application form. If the applicant is unable to attach their video recording here, please email the attachment, not larger than 20MB, to: info@mmsummerfest.com. Include your name and "MMSummerFest Instrumental" in the subject line.*

  4. Application fee payment $55 for new students is the final step. It is a non-refundable payment that should be made in US dollars. It must be received for your application to be processed. Pay by credit card online (for a slightly higher fee) or by mailing us a check or money order to the address provided under Payment Information below.

Returning Students: Welcome back! The application fee is waived for all returning students.

*Conducting students: submit two contrasting samples showing you're conducting a small or large ensemble or full orchestra. Follow the above steps for uploading. If emailing your video, include your name and "MMSummerFest Conducting" in the subject line. Conducting students who wish to be considered for chamber ensemble must also send an additional video recording of two contrasting selections as described above.

*Composition students: A short, recently composed original work should be submitted for our review. Follow the above steps on uploading. If emailing your recording, include your name and "MMSummerFest Composition" in the subject line. Composition students who wish to be considered for chamber ensemble and orchestra, must also send an additional video recording of two contrasting selections as described above.

Tuition Fees

Early-Bird Special, 10% off if paid by March 31:

  • Student Tuition, Double Room: $2,340

  • Student Tuition, Single Room: $2,700

Full Tuition if paid after March 31:

  • Student Tuition, Double Room: $2,600

  • Student Tuition, Single Room: $3,000

Tuition includes all lessons, chamber coaching, master-classes, lectures and presentations, concerts, practice rooms, room & board including 3 meals per day, cocktail receptions, excursion trips, bus service to other concert locations and airport transfers. Students are typically housed in double rooms. However, a limited number of single rooms may be available on a first-come, first-served basis.

Participating students are responsible for their travel and accident insurance.

What happens next? 

After your complete application is received, in approximately two weeks, you will be notified of your acceptance by email.

Once you receive a Letter of Acceptance, you will be invoiced to pay a $500 enrollment deposit, credited to your tuition. This will confirm and secure your spot and attendance. 

Once your deposit is received, you may choose to pay a remaining tuition payment as one of the following: 

Early Bird- 10% discounted tuition deadline
paid by March 31:

  • Double room: $1840

  • Single room: $2200; (subject to availability)

Regular Tuition payment (after March 31) deadline
paid by May 1:

  • Double room: $2100 

  • Single room: $2500; (subject to availability)

Passport Requirement

Once you confirm your attendance after deposit, you must send a scan of your Passport, which is required in conjunction of acceptance. MMSF will need this information for organizing bus shuttles and border crossings for airport transfers and excursions during the festival.

Cancellation Policy

❗️MMSF is committed to binding early contracts to secure faculty, facilities and housing for the participating students. Once paid, application fees are not refundable for any reason. Tuition fees, should a student decide not to attend, are not refundable after May 10, 2025.

One Plus One - Additional track

One-time payment and in addition to your basic tuition: $600

Additional track will include: 4 private lessons, 4 chamber music coaching sessions as well as, where applicable, full orchestra participation. This is all in addition to students’ main chosen course of studies. For example: you are applying as a pianist but would also like lessons in conducting; or you are applying as a violinist but you would like to have additional viola lessons and ensemble work; or you are a pianist or a cellist and you would like to study composition.

Questions about Tuition

Accepted students are encouraged to research and apply for grants and loan programs offered by their schools and universities, as well as artistic and educational organizations to help with summer studies abroad.

We are happy to arrange an installment plan as a payment option.

Festival Guests

Festival Guests are family and friends of all participating musicians and accepted students. Guest attendance includes room & board including 3 meals per day, excursion trips and airport transfers (if the arrival and departure dates are as scheduled), trips to other concert locations, open master-classes, lectures and presentations, concerts, rehearsals and cocktail receptions. If guests wish to arrive for a few days only, please contact us for further information.

Guests who wish to arrange their own accommodation but be a part of the festival for excursion, local transportation and airport services, there are separate fees available for each option. Please contact us for more information.

The festival is pleased to offer a 10% off for the 2nd Guest sharing a double room during a full time stay.

Full time guest rates:

  • Double Room: $1,900

  • Double Room for 2nd Guest: $1,710 (10% discount)

  • Single Room: $2,300

If unable to register for the full time option, please email us and we will try our best to accommodate your request. Early inquires and reservations are suggested.
