Panta Veličković
Serbian violist, Panta Veličković was a long-time member of the prestigious string quartet „Mokranjac“ and a member and founder of a well-known string quartet „Rubicon“ with notable performances in the Former Yugoslavia, at festivals - NOMUS, NIMUS, BEMUS, A Tempo, Kotor Art, Budva-City Theater and also in Sion, Switzerland. Born in Serbia, Mr. Velickovic studied with violists Petar Ivanovic at the Academy of Arts in Belgrade and Reiner Moog at the Hochschule für Music und Tanz Köln. A sought-after professor at the Music Academy in Belgrade, his many students are top prizewinners at international competitions and have become renowned artists who successfully continued their careers in music centers worldwide. He is also a guest professor at the University in Osnabrueck, Germany and was president of the jury at the South East Asia Young Artist Competition, ASEAN, held in 2011 in Jakarta, Indonesia. Mr. Velickovic performed regularly with pianist Viola Mokrosch and was a member and principal violist with the Chamber Orchestra “D. Skovran” in Belgrade. Besides his active career as a performer and pedagogue, Panta is a master string instrument maker, an artistic endeavor that has been featured in numerous radio and television programs, as well as in articles and interviews.
