Xenia Cumento

Xenia Cumento completed her bachelor's degree at the Crane School of Music in New York in 2016. During this time she was a finalist in the Classical Singer Competition and appeared with the Crane Chorus at Carnegie Hall as a soloist in A. Bruckner's "Psalm 150" and R. Vaughan Williams' "Serenade to Music." She completed her master's degree at the Berlin University of the Arts in February 2020. There she sang the title role of the Angel in the university production of Peter Eötvös’ “Angels in America”. In summer 2017 she won third prize and the audience prize at the Grandi Voci competition as part of the Oper im Berg festival in Salzburg. From 2020 to 2022, Xenia Cumento was a member of the opera studio at the Landestheater Detmold where she sang the roles Mi in “Das Land des Lächelns”, Valencienne in “Die Lustige Witwe”, and Zerbinetta in “Ariadne auf Naxos”. Since August 2022, Xenia Cumento has been a member of the ensemble at Theater Kiel in Kiel, Germany where she has sung roles such as Musetta in “La Bohème”, Queen of the Night in “The Magic Flute”, Nannetta in “Falstaff”, and Despina in “Cosi fan tutte”. In the 2024/25 season she will reprise her role of Maria in “West Side Story”, and debut the roles of Sophie in “Der Rosenkavalier”, Adele in “Die Fledermaus” and Norina in “Don Pasquale”.
